Jimmie Munoz comes to Phoenix Pride with a passion for his family and
his community. As a lifelong resident of Phoenix, Jimmie has been
active in the political and social climate for over 15 years. He
earned a B.A. in Religious & Cultural Studies from ASU and believes
his knowledge of people and culture has been an asset for his work in
the community. Jimmie has a variety of experience that includes
special events planning, public relations, fundraising, and community
organizing.
From 2006 – 2010 Jimmie served as an elected member of the
Roosevelt School Board and considers his work to lead the Roosevelt
School District from “Failing” to “Performing Plus” in two years and
the establishment of the Roosevelt Scholarship Foundation as his two
proudest achievements.
Jimmie is believes the strength of the LGBTQ
community is its diversity. He is committed to helping Phoenix Pride
celebrate that diversity. As Project Manager for Phoenix
Pride, Jimmie would dedicate his time to furthering the reach and
impact of the organization. For fun, Jimmie enjoys coaching a LGBTQ
youth softball team as part of the Cactus Cities Softball League, and
traveling with his partner. |
