Renée Thomas variously identifies as, a parent to two precocious children, a commercial architect of some 20 years experience, a nascent LGBT activist, a freelance writer and a woman of transgender history. Arriving at a spot near the mid-point of her life has seen the complete reconciliation of a private yet decade’s long struggle to resolve a sense of gender identity at times in harsh and implacable conflict with the physicality of who she appeared to be.
She notes, “In finding and making peace with myself, I’ve also found a passion to discover, coax out and celebrate the “better angels” in others. To that end, Renee has committed her efforts and her passion for politics and writing to the ongoing battle for LGBT civil rights. She toils “… for our larger community’s dignity, our rights and our humanity.”
