National Coming OUT Day is an internationally-observed civil awareness day for coming out and discussion about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) issues. It is observed on October 11 every year by members of the LGBT communities and their supporters.

This event is free to the public and we will be on the Main Stage from 12:00pm-12:20pm at Rainbows Festival following AIDS Walk Phoenix.
Spend your day with Phoenix Pride at an event for all ages; bring your moms, dads, brothers, sisters and children. Bring the whole family and celebrate the bravery and authenticity of those who have been OUT for many years or those who are just beginning to come OUT. Help Phoenix Pride promote awareness of LGBTQ families living honest and open lives.

CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS CONTEST
In celebration of "National Coming Out Day" and our third annual OUTdayPHX, Phoenix Pride wants to know your coming out story expressed as your personal work of art or creative expression.
What is a "Creative Expression"?
Let's face it, sometimes our Coming Out stories are hard to put into words. If you have a personal work of art, song, poem, digital creation, monologue, dance, ESSAY, or other kind of "creative expression" that tells your Coming Out story in a non-traditional way, we want to see it!
HOW TO ENTER:
Email your creative expression (as an attachment for smaller files, or as a YouTube link for video) to outdayphx@phoenixpride.org along with a short description of your creative expression. For larger files, please contact us for upload instructions. Please DO NOT copy and paste into the email, only send attachments for all written forms of expression. (CLICK HERE FOR PDF INSTRUCTIONS)
RULES & INFORMATION:
Creative Expression contest open to all Arizona residents of all ages.
Creative Expression deadline: Friday, September 9, 2011
Keep all forms of written expression under 1000 words, BE CREATIVE and don't forget to use proper grammar and punctuation.
WHAT DO YOU WIN??
Our Creative Expression Review Committee will review and select the Top 10. Throughout the month of October, LGBT History Month, those Top 10 expressionists will be featured on the Phoenix Pride website and weekly eblasts.
We will then select 3 expressionists who will be invited to share their story at the 2011 OUTdayPHX at Rainbows Festival on the Main Stage at 12pm Sunday, October 2, 2011.
The final three expressionists will receive a 2012 Phoenix Pride Festival Party Pack and a feature story in Echo Magazine.
*If your story is selected you will be notified no later than September 16, 2011.
