Ernesto Ortiz has spent the last ten years working in the non-profit sector. His work has included outreach, business development, marketing and fundraising. Born in Oregon and raised in West Phoenix, his career began in blood and tissue banking with United Blood Services. He later moved to San Antonio, Texas to join the team at the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP). At the NMDP he helped manage and develop the largest Hispanic/Latino donor base in the United States. Ernesto is currently working at St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance as part of the Development team.
Besides Ernesto’s non-profit work in private life, he has served Phoenix Pride as Fund Development Committee Chair 2008-2009, and currently serves as the Committee’s interim chair 2009-2010.
